Mental Health Status Based on Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21, Brief Resilience Scale, and Satisfaction with Life Scale among Corporate Staff in International Medical University
A peer-reviewed journal article published in the Malaysian Journal of Psychiatry that described a study on the prevalence of symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress among corporate staff. This study which sheds light on the mental health challenges faced by corporate staff contributes to a deeper understanding of mental health challenges within selected populations and underscore the pressing need for mental health support systems tailored to specific populations.

  • Prevalence: Approx. 10% of participants were found to be experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety or stress.
  • Life satisfaction and resilience: Approx. 18% of participants scored low on the satisfaction with life scale and exhibited low mental resilience.
Results
This study offers insights into triggers that impact mental health outcomes. Based on 179 corporate staff from International Medical University, it is found that marital status and race issues seemed to be risk factors of mental health issues.
