Profiles of Panelists
1. Dr. John Pinto, Head of Counselling at ThoughtFull
With expertise in mental health and social sciences, John has over 6 years of experience in research, leadership, and strategy. His published research covers key topics in the fields of mental health and social sciences, alongside early contributions in molecular biology. John’s focus is on combining evidence-based insights with practical leadership to shape the digital mental health space in the region. He has worked extensively with multiple stakeholders in the field to develop effective partnerships, leading to effective solutions in the digital mental health.
2. Shazmi Ali, Vice President of HR at Shell Business Operations & Malaysia
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Shazmi Ali oversees HR for Shell Malaysia, leading initiatives that support over 28,000 employees worldwide. Since joining Shell in 2018, he has driven significant HR transformations and diversity programs like the Tenang Carnival. Shazmi is also a board member of Shell People Services Asia and chairs the Shell Malaysia Scholarship Trust. Beyond his corporate role, he is an active HR community leader, an Adjunct Professor, and a passionate Touch Rugby player, having recently represented Malaysia in the Touch Rugby World Cup.
3. Dr. Karen D. Sacdalan, Organisational Psychologist
Dr. Karen is a registered psychologist in the Philippines with over 20 years of experience. She currently serves as an in-house psychologist for a government agency and is a career coach specialising in change management and talent development. She is a member of the Psychological Association of the Philippines and an International Affiliate of the American Psychological Association. As an assistant professor at De La Salle University Dasmariñas, Dr. Karen has published research on inclusive education, technology, and positive psychology. She is also a passionate advocate for disability management, workplace mental health, and DEI practices.
4. Alyssa Than, Associate Director (Wellbeing), Health Solutions APAC, Aon
Alyssa has a decade of experience in health and wellbeing, specialising in behavioral health and neuropsychiatry. She holds an MSc in Clinical Neuropsychiatry from King’s College London and has clinical experience with the NHS in the UK. After returning to Singapore, she pioneered a neuropsychiatric program for stroke patients and later led organisational wellbeing at Singtel Group. Now at Aon, Alyssa champions mental health through holistic wellbeing frameworks and is a thought leader promoting psychological safety at work, home, and in the community.
